Having begun morning worship services in the summer of 1995, Trinity is a new church, committed to meeting the spiritual needs of our suburban communities with the resources of the historic Christian faith. While new, Trinity is a growing church, having gone from an original group of six couples to a worshipping congregation of more than 200. The church has recently purchased property (less than two miles from the current meeting site), and is developing plans for a church building to be constructed in the near future.

While Trinity Church is a new congregation, our beliefs are anything but new—in fact, they are ancient! We believe that the historic Christian faith—the faith communicated in the Holy Scriptures—is both completely true and powerfully life changing. We are officially committed to those ancient statements of the Christian faith known as the “ecumenical confessions”—the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds. We also are officially committed to what is known as the Reformed theological tradition through our subscription to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms, documents produced in the 17th century at Westminster Abbey in London. We are affiliated with the Metropolitan New York Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America and with the “Redeemer Network,” a group of churches connected to Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, the congregation that was most influential in the founding of Trinity Church.

At Trinity Church we wholeheartedly believe the classic Christian tenet that humanity was created to enjoy a vital relationship with God; in the words of St. Augustine’s prayer, “You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” The central Christian message, historically called the gospel (or “good news”), is that through Jesus Christ it is possible to have this personal connection with God. At Trinity Church we believe that life can be lived to the fullest only when the gospel is warmly embraced and then practically lived out day-to-day. In the words of a 17th century Christian confession, we believe that we were created in order “to glorify God and to enjoy him forever.”
